#1 in interior design trends: Dark wooden furniture

This year, no more light wood furniture like we use to see everywhere! We're opting for dark wood, and particularly for acacia, walnut, rosewood or teak. Whether it's in your kitchen, your living room or your bedroom, this type of wood will bring charisma and character to the room! It also brings a natural touch in your interior. Find below a small selection of dark wood pieces to install in your home!

Interior design trend #2: Organic shapes to round off the corners

Organic furniture is one of the big trends for 2023! Tables, sofas, lights, vases, mirrors... With their minimalist and asymmetrical design, these pieces of furniture and decorative objects will make your interior ultra chic and trendy. It is usually found in neutral and light tones, but black or dark wood also work well! I have made a small selection of furniture and decoration with a rounded shape found on the Westwing website.

#3 in interior design trends: Ceramic and striated glass are back in fashion

Ceramic is sometimes seen as old-fashioned as it was 30 years ago... But today, ceramics has managed to pull out all the stops by coming back in force for this year 2023! And with it, it has taken striated glass along. These are two noble materials that combine vintage style, elegance and originality. We want to see them in our homes this year! Lamps, dishes, vases or decorative ceramic objects placed on a pretty metal piece of furniture with striated glass doors, and your interior decoration will be very trendy! Find below my Westwing deco selection and don't hesitate to tell me which pieces you will adopt in 2023!

#4 in interior design trends: Noble and natural materials

Natural materials have always been highly valued by architects and decorating enthusiasts to create a healthy and natural interior. By natural materials, I mean wood, rattan, wicker, bamboo, linen or cotton. So many materials that will compose your decoration for a trendy and authentic style. Whether it's a light fixture, an armchair or a worktop, we want natural materials in every room of the house! They are timeless and very easy to mix with each other or with other materials and colours. I have found a few nuggets that I hope will soon find their way into your home!

Interior design trend #5: Dare to use green in your home

Since 2022, green has been the trend colour! On your walls, your furniture or in small decorative touches, adopt green in your home without further delay! Sage, olive or khaki green, these shades will brighten up and warm up your room, giving it a soothing and super warm feel.

Moreover, it's a colour that goes great with terracotta and beige, two other colours that are ultra-trendy at the moment! I've also opted for green in my two living rooms, especially on the walls, and it's stunning! If you are hesitating to take the plunge, go check out my article on the matter. In the main living room, it is used in small touches: cushions, chairs, decorations. In the second room, I painted the whole wall green and then added terracotta and beige cushions on my sofa. I love this mix of colours!
