One & Only Royal Mirage Dubai is a 65-acre beachfront hotel overlooking Palm Island Bay, at Jumeirah beach. Not much words are needed to paint the picture: the place is beautiful, peaceful, luxurious without falling into the “over-the-top” style of Dubai. We fell in love with it as soon as we crossed the entrance! In addition to being super fabulous, the hotel is also perfectly located as it is close to Dubai Marina and the new Dubai, and only 30 minutes from the airport.
It is made up of three different parts: the Palace (the biggest part of the hotel), the Arabian Court (a bit smaller and more intimate part) and the Residence & Spa (which is even more luxurious) belonging to the famous Leading Hotels of the World collection). This is one of the few hotels in Dubai not to have invested a gigantic tower, and the fact that the hotel keeps it at “human size” (it’s still pretty big), and that it is set up like a village, gives it an unique charm.
For the record, the name “Mirage” comes from a legend that seven Berbers from Abu Dhabi, exhausted after having traveled for days in the desert, saw this overly luxurious place, where you eat well , dance and feast all night. They stayed in this oasis of happiness for several days, and when they finally went on to continue their journey, this haven of peace disappeared. Hence the name “Mirage” hotel! 7 statues of Berbers were installed in the courtyard of the Palace to recall this legend.
In terms of eating, the Royal Mirage Dubai has no less than 8 restaurants (yes, the choice is difficult), each of different styles and atmospheres. From Moroccan to Asian cuisine, everyone can find its favorite cuisine and it is super convenient when you do not want to go out at night to eat! Prices vary from one restaurant to another, but you can eat at a reasonable rate.
The hotel also has its own beachclub: the Drift, which opened recently. The place is ultra design, offering access to the beach and having its own pool. It truly is a wonderful place that I highly recommend even if you do not stay at the hotel!
Regarding the facilities, the hotel has everything you need for a trip to Dubai: 1km of private beach, 4 heated pools, a majestic golf course, tennis courts and a wellness complex. The pools and the beach offer spectacular views of Dubai’s finest towers, contrasting with the ocean. It really gives an incredible stamp to the pictures! In addition to the facilities of the hotel, you can also leave from the reception to go on excursions, for example go sand-surfing in the dunes or explore the desert, then finish with a Berber dinner.
This little piece of paradise has a certain cost. The deluxe double room is around 430 € per night during low season. But if you want to indulge, know that you will get your money’s worth. It’s a breathtaking place that is definitely worth seeing! I have rarely enjoyed a stay in a hotel this much. A luxurious palace (without overdoing it, everything is very tasteful), where the customer is king, the service of exceptional quality, and the stay couldn’t be better.
