Where to stay in south of Italy? Best hotels and airbnbs in Puglia
If you know me well, you'll know that every year we go on holiday to the Puglia region of Italy. My husband is originally from Salento and we spend every July with his family there. We always make the journey by car, which allows us to get off at our leisure and discover places along the way. We don't usually book hotels or airbnbs in advance. We drive until we're fed up and we always find really nice places to stop. Having already spent several summers in the region, I can now give you a list of the best hotels and airbnb places to stay in Puglia! So, if you're planning a holiday there soon, this is the article for you!

Where to stay in Puglia : Itria Valley
Best hotels in Ostuni
- Masseria Morrone ⏤ $$: This hotel has belonged to the same family for several generations. This magnificent residence offers an atmosphere mixing modern architecture and tradition. Enjoy the swimming pool, which is surrounded by a pine forest.
- Hotel relais La Sommita ⏤ $$$$: Choose from deluxe rooms and suites. Situated not far from the historic centre of Ostuni, the hotel has a relaxing garden.
- Masseria Il frantoio ⏤ $$$: This hotel is an organic farm set in the Apulian countryside. Not far from the sea, it is surrounded by olive and citrus groves.
- Masseria Moroseta ⏤ $$$: This hotel has been heavily featured on Instagram, combining contemporary and traditional design, it's the place to be for accommodation in Puglia! The place is extremely popular, so book well in advance, but it's clearly worth the diversions. A magical experience guaranteed!
- Masseria Grieco ⏤ $$: This charming hotel made up of Trulli is the ideal place to relax and take advantage of all the facilities on offer: large swimming pool, bar, lunch and dinner, massages, guided tours, etc. For a relaxing holiday without having to worry about anything, it's ideal!
- Masseria San Paolo Grande ⏤ $$$: This hotel, surrounded by olive groves, has 8 rooms and suites decorated in typical Italian style. The exteriors are just magnificent! A must if you're heading to Puglia!
- Masseria Dagilupi ⏤ $$$: Another masseria, in the same style as the others.
- Paragon 700 ⏤ $$$$: This boutique hotel offers a unique experience in the Palazzo Rosso, an 18th-century building in the centre of Ostuni.
- Borgo Silentio ⏤ $$$: Located in the heart of the Italian countryside. It will charm you with its 3 typical local homes and their magnificent exteriors.
- Villa Itria ⏤ $$$: Villa in the heart of nature that blends design, creativity and modernity. The ideal place to stay in Puglia to discover the region.

Best accomodation in Fasano
- Masseria San Francesco ⏤ $$$: This hotel is elegant and refined. It's the perfect place to spend a few romantic days!
- Borgo Egnazia ⏤ $$$: This hotel with 4 swimming pools is built in typical Apulian architecture. It offers rooms, flats and villas. You can also enjoy Mediterranean cuisine here! This is a large-scale hotel where you can enjoy a great family holiday with all the appropriate facilities. However, the hotel can accommodate up to 400 people. So it's not the place to go if you're looking for peace and quiet! Note also that prices are very expensive for the area.
- Masseria Montenapoleone ⏤ $$$: Surrounded by olive trees, this building will immerse you in an Italian atmosphere! This typical Puglia farmhouse offers guests a buffet breakfast featuring local specialities. A must-try!
- Borgo San Marco ⏤ $$$: A charming hotel, typical of the region, ideal for relaxing as a couple and exploring the area!

- Nina Trulli Resort ⏤ Alberobello ⏤ $$$: Hotel made up of traditional trulli. An unusual place to stay, surrounded by vineyards. The hotel offers a range of activities, including top-notch cookery classes!
- Ottolire Resort ⏤ Locorotondo ⏤ $$$: This sublime hotel is located in Locorotondo. With luxurious rooms, breakfast and a magnificent swimming pool, it's got everything you need!

- Palazzo Zimara ⏤ $$$$: A historic palace in the centre of Lecce, this hotel is built in typical Italian architecture and offers suites that are just incredible!

Other places to stay in the Salento region
- Palazzo Muci ⏤ Nardo ⏤ $$$: Charming boutique hotel in a typical palace with just a few rooms right in the centre of Nardo. The decor is sumptuous and the bedding incredible! I highly recommend it if you're planning a trip to Puglia. However, the breakfast leaves something to be desired, so it's better to eat in town.
- Palazzo Vecchio ⏤ Marittima ⏤ $: Really affordable and ultra typical B&B. In an old palace that was being renovated at the time of our stay, pleasant staff but not a great breakfast.
- Palazzo Daniele ⏤ Gagliano del Capo ⏤ $$$$: This hotel in Salento is a guest house with 9 rooms. Built in 1861, the house was originally the home of the Daniele family. With its spa, cosy rooms and typical Italian restaurant, you'll be able to enjoy your stay to the full.
- Masseria Pizzofalcone ⏤ Supersano ⏤ $$: Traditional masseria with affordable rooms. Quiet, typical, affordable and well placed for visiting southern Salento.
- Tenuta Mosè ⏤ Gallipoli ⏤ $$$$: A tenuta is a vineyard in this region of Puglia. This hotel is run by English people who have created a wonderful haven of peace where the owners' personal style blends perfectly with the local environment.
