On the other hand, if you have already had the opportunity to visit New York for the first time, I advise you to look for an accommodation a bit further from Downtown. This will allow you to discover NY from another angle.
The ideal plan in my opinion? If you are going for a full week, book 4 nights in Midtown first and then 3 nights in another area. Whether it's Soho or Brooklyn, discover another part of New York City! It'll feel like two trips in one.
In addition to the rather high prices, don't forget that the communicated tariffs do not include taxes or tips. For hotels, taxes are normally added automatically at the time of booking to avoid surprises. But remember this if you are going to a restaurant, for example. As far as tips are concerned, you should not add them in hotels but in other establishments such as restaurants. When you get the bill, you should pay attention.
To reduce your costs, the best thing to do is to get to NYC outside the school holidays. Going to NYC in the middle of the Christmas period obviously did not please our wallet because it was really expensive!
